Evaliation Question 5

5. How did you attract/address your audience?

The way I attracted my target audience was to take aspects of other magazines and transfer them onto mine, for example Spin. I have also offered a free mixtape which will attract more readers towards my magazine, as well as attracting them with artists they may like and a soundtrack towards the issue, made by the featured artists. I also drew them in with the rhetorical question, ‘The filthiest Dubstep yet?’ this addresses them in more than one way, because it uses the language used by fans of the genre.

Evaliation Question 4

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

Josh is a 19 year old student who passed music in college and is taking a gap year before going to Bristol Universe to take a Music Technology course. He often spends his nights on BeatPort looking for new music in the electronic genre, but he also likes to keep up to date on the latest news on Blogs like Dubstep.Net and InsideDubstep.Com, despite having no idea of how the music is produced. Josh is interested in fashion as well as music, with his Skinny jean, Nike SB Janoski combination, however he likes to be original and can't wear anything that everyone else is wearing, it is also the same with his music, he loves to listen to music that is up and coming that not many people listen to, helping the small artists out by buying their music.

The audience for my media product would be 16-25 year olds, this is because most people who are not in that age range do not see Dubstep as ‘real music’ as it is all aggressive and electronic based. Most adults see it as noise and do not appreciate it as much as instrumental music.
